Omega Sells Spectre a Seamaster Equal to Bond’s

Omega’s first villain Spectre Diver 300M is a regular $8,600 catalog watch, priced with Bond’s, on Global James Bond Day with no new 007.

Omega put a Spectre Seamaster Diver 300M on the same listed at $8,600 on Omega’s site as a matching James Bond edition on October 5, 2026. It is the first time in a partnership that began with GoldenEye in 1995 that the villain’s group gets a regular Diver 300M of its own, priced with 007, on Global James Bond Day, with no new Bond actor named.

The steel pair sits in the open catalog. Two 77-piece boxes, each pairing that steel watch with a platinum-gold model, sit at $89,800 and are not split. Omega’s US page for the Bond steel already asked buyers to join a wish list.

Spectre Gets a Catalog Seamaster of Its Own

Omega president and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann framed the drop as one story with two wearers. Bond, in the brand’s own copy, stands for duty, discipline, and loyalty. SPECTRE stands for independence, self-interest, and freedom from those constraints. The hardware is the same 42 mm Diver 300M. The finish is the argument.

Omega has been the watch of James Bond for more than thirty years, and this is the first time we have brought James Bond and Spectre together in a collection. Both belong to the same story, and our customers have always known both sides of it. Now they can wear both.

Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO, Omega

A 2015 Seamaster 300 “SPECTRE” limited edition already used the film’s name. That watch was Bond’s on screen, not a product for the criminal group. The 2026 Spectre edition is the other way around. Omega treats it as a villain watch, and it is not tied to a new film because there is not one.

The campaign line is blunt enough to print. Omega says there is now a Seamaster Diver 300M for each side, and it put that line on its own channel the morning of the launch.

How the Steel Bond and Spectre Watches Differ

Both open steels use the 42 mm stainless case, a 50 mm lug-to-lug, a 14.23 mm profile, a 300 m rating, and a steel mesh bracelet, and each watch weighs 158 grams. Inside is the no-date Master Chronometer calibre 8806, beating at 25,200 vph with a 55-hour reserve, 35 jewels, and resistance to 15,000 gauss. Rated accuracy is 0/+6 seconds a day. The helium valve still sits at 10 o’clock. The clasp is slimmer than the last mesh generation and easier to work with one hand.

BOND VERSUS SPECTRE, SAME STEEL CASE

Detail James Bond Edition Spectre Edition
Reference 210.30.42.20.03.004 210.30.42.20.01.023
Dial Dark blue aluminum, laser wave pattern Blackened, grained aluminum
Bezel insert Grade 5 titanium, scale in relief Black ceramic, scale in relief
12 o’clock mark Bond coat of arms Standard applied index
Rotor, through the back Rhodium gun-barrel Black SPECTRE logo
US price $8,600 $8,600

The Bond dial is the one collectors already know from late-1990s Seamasters: a fine wave, applied rhodium indexes, skeleton hands with white Super-LumiNova, blue glow on the hour and seconds, green on the minute hand to match the bezel pip. The Spectre dial drops the wave for a matte grain and puts a black ceramic ring on top, so the steel case reads darker even before you flip it over.

Movie marks live mostly on the rotor and, on the Bond watch, at 12 o’clock. That is why the pair still works as a Diver 300M if you never care about 007. It is also why some long-time buyers see another special edition on the same 42 mm tool they already own. The black Spectre is the one that actually changes the face of the watch. The blue Bond is a tuned reprint of a look Omega has sold for years, including a 60th-anniversary steel model that still lists at $9,400 on the same US page, $800 above this new Bond steel.

European tags printed with the launch put each steel watch at €8,500 including VAT and CHF 6,700 excluding VAT. Omega sells both through boutiques and its own site.

The 77-Set Boxes Keep Platinum Off the Open Market

Omega split the precious-metal watches into two numbered runs of 77 sets, one Bond, one Spectre. Each box holds a steel watch on mesh and a platinum-gold watch on leather. Neither watch in a set is sold on its own. The steel pieces in the boxes, references 210.30.42.20.03.005 and 210.30.42.20.01.029, add a numbered plate at 9 o’clock. The open catalog steels do not.

The platinum-gold cases use polished ceramic bezels with the diving scale filled in platinum. Dials are 18K white gold with a PVD gradient: blue with a gun-barrel pattern on Bond, dark gray with an octopus pattern on Spectre. Rotor emblems on both precious watches are 18K Moonshine Gold. Casebacks on all four boxed watches are polished and brushed in Omega’s wave-edged shape and closed with the Naiad Lock. European set pricing printed with the launch was €88,500 including VAT and CHF 70,000 excluding VAT.

WHAT EACH 77-SET BOX ADDS

  • Extra strap: A NATO plus a strap-changing tool, so the steel watch can leave the mesh.
  • Keepers: Bond keepers engraved 007 and a blue pouch; Spectre keepers with the group logo and a black pouch.
  • Desk objects: Cufflinks, a cord bracelet, a loupe, a leather travel pouch, a card holder, and a certificate.

The $89,800 tag is the platinum watch plus the theatre around it. The steel catalog pair is the product most people will actually handle.

Lindy Hemming’s Naval Case for the Blue Dial

Costume designer Lindy Hemming put Omega on Bond for GoldenEye after deciding a Royal Navy officer should wear a diver, not the flashier sports watch the character had been known for. Omega still quotes her on its James Bond page.

I was convinced that Commander Bond, a naval man, a diver and a discreet gentleman of the world would wear the Seamaster with the blue dial.

Pierce Brosnan wore that blue quartz Seamaster, then an automatic, across four films. Daniel Craig wore Seamasters and Planet Oceans across five, ending with the titanium Diver 300M in No Time to Die in 2021. Nine films, two Bonds, one brand on the wrist the whole way. The 2026 blue Bond edition is a straight line back to Hemming’s brief. The black Spectre edition is Omega admitting the other half of the plot can sell a case too.

THIRTY YEARS OF SEAMASTER ON BOND

  1. October 5, 1962: Dr. No opens at the London Pavilion, the date later used for Global James Bond Day.
  2. 1995: GoldenEye puts an Omega Seamaster on Bond for the first time.
  3. 2012: Eon Productions marks the 50th anniversary of that premiere as James Bond Day.
  4. 2015: Bond wears a Seamaster 300 SPECTRE limited edition in the film of that name; it is his watch, not the villain’s.
  5. 2021: No Time to Die closes the Craig run on a titanium Diver 300M.
  6. 2022: Omega issues a 60th-anniversary Diver 300M that still lists at $9,400 in the United States.
  7. February 20, 2025: Amazon MGM Studios, Michael G. Wilson, and Barbara Broccoli announce a joint venture for Bond rights.
  8. March 24, 2025: That transaction closes and Amazon MGM takes creative control.
  9. October 5, 2026: Omega launches the Bond and Spectre Diver 300M pair, 64 years after Dr. No.

Global James Bond Day exists because of the London premiere of Dr. No in 1962. Omega used the anniversary to ship a villain SKU, not a new film watch.

Who Controls the Next Bond Film

Amazon MGM Studios, Wilson, and Broccoli formed a joint venture to house Bond rights and remain co-owners, and under that deal Amazon MGM Studios gains creative control of future productions. The close date on Amazon’s own statement is March 24, 2025. Wilson said he was stepping back from producing. Broccoli said that with No Time to Die finished and Wilson retiring from the films, she would focus on other projects.

Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, called Bond one of the most iconic characters in filmed entertainment and said the studio looked forward to the next phase of 007. Amazon had bought MGM in 2022, a catalog it describes as more than 4,000 films and 17,000 television shows, and already distributed the Bond library. Creative control is the new piece.

As of late September 2026, no actor had been named to succeed Craig. Omega did not wait. The watches are licensed product for a character whose next face is still a casting file.

Built for the Years Without a Bond Movie

Omega posted the launch itself as a split personality, then pointed buyers at the campaign hub.

The loud objection to that post is not the octopus logo. It is the sense that Omega is still minting special Seamasters on a case everyone already knows, with the story marks parked on the rotor so the dial can pass as a normal diver. That complaint has a point. The 8806, the mesh, the 42 mm proportions, and the helium valve are catalog architecture. What is new is the commercial decision to sell SPECTRE at the same number as Bond, in open production, during a gap between films.

A Bond watch used to arrive with a premiere. This pair arrives with a wish list. The Spectre steel is the tell: Omega is no longer only dressing the spy. It is dressing the other side of a story Amazon now gets to write, and it is charging $8,600 either way.

The US Bond page going to a wait list on launch morning says the dual SKU worked as a product. It does not say when the next Bond will have a wrist of his own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Is Global James Bond Day on October 5?

Eon Productions first treated October 5 as James Bond Day in 2012, the 50th anniversary of Dr. No, with events that included a Christie’s charity auction, a Museum of Modern Art retrospective, and the premiere of the documentary Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007. The date stuck as an annual fan marker after that anniversary year.

Did Omega Make a Spectre Watch for the 2015 Film?

Yes, but it was Bond’s watch in Spectre, a Seamaster 300 limited edition with a lollipop seconds hand, sold under the film’s title rather than as merchandise for the criminal organisation. The 2026 Spectre Diver 300M is the first Omega in this line the brand itself describes as a villain watch.

Do the Regular Steel Models Carry Limited-Edition Numbers?

No. Only the steel watches inside the 77-set boxes, references 210.30.42.20.03.005 and 210.30.42.20.01.029, get an individual number on a plate at 9 o’clock. The open catalog Bond and Spectre steels are unnumbered and are part of Omega’s regular Diver 300M range.

What Warranty Does Omega Include With These Watches?

Omega’s US product page states a five-year warranty covering material and manufacturing defects present at delivery, with free repair against a valid certificate, and replacement by an identical or similar Omega if a repair cannot restore normal use. Wear, accidents, negligence, and work by anyone Omega has not authorised void that cover.
